Executive Recruiters of CEOs for Private Equity Groups
Steps in establishing a partnership with a private equity group to pursue acquisitions as a member of their Executive Sponsorship Programs (commonly referred to as Entrepreneur in Residence, CEO in Residence, or Executive in Residence programs):
|
- Submission of resume or biography to private equity groups that the CEO desires to talk to. Many CEO's choose to prepare a short-write up on the sector they want to purse acquisitions in and their acquisition strategy and have it sent with their resume/bio to select private equity groups. - Initial phone conversation with principals at private equity groups that indicate an interest in talking to CEO. CEO's should be prepared to discuss (or may outline in a PowerPoint presentation or summary business plan): - The CEOs background. - The sector they want to pursue acquisitions in and what makes the sector attractive. - Their acquisition criteria or characteristics they seek in acquisition candidates. - Potential acquisition targets within the sector. - Generalized post-acquisition strategy and business model. - In person meetings with private equity groups. - Reference checks and initial due diligence conducted by investor groups. - CEO and private equity group establish a partnership to pursue acquisitions. |
